Wow! That is very cool. I love the checkered patterns in that sweet looking little guitar as well... Notice the Django type bridge! I guess you wouldn't want 180 lbs. of pressure compressing that top, regardless of the glue you use...

There needs to be more myth and legended generated to this story...

something like because the instruments were made from pre-war matches, chances are the matchsticks were made of old growth Adirondack Spruce...

or because he was from England, the matchsticks were from "real" German Spruce...

It is remarkable the time and patience it would take to construct these instruments.
