Hi Folks,

Here's a "simple" inlay just completed in the shop.

Paua rim abalam for the letters, Paua select for the "doo dads" on either side.

I actually didn't break any of the 4 segments... ,
Meaning it was a "one timer".

Thanks for looking!

Also a more involved inlay of wild roses on a custom Fladmark autoharp. This is just the beginning! Trillium, nightshade, and bittersweet to come.

Wow!. I've not met Tom, he lives within 90 minutes of here. He used to work for George Orthey, and maybe George trained him. Geaorge is a very interesting older gentleman who has made autoharps (and other stringed instruments) for a living since the late sixties, IIRC.

George tells me that TOm is one very talented individual. Thanks for posting

"simple".... "more involved"

Paul, you're a master of understatement!

Beautiful work, as always.

Thanks for posting!

Those are super Paul, keep 'em coming for inspiration. I am thinking of doing something quite advanced on my guitar, you know, like installing diamond shaped fret markers .

Paul , your artistry is mind boggling . Superb, is a massive understatement . Inlaying on spruce has got to be tricky !

Paul, I swear you post stuff like this and call it simple just to psych the rest of us out. Looks impeccable as always.

Are you saying that the roses are going to have company?
Trillium, nightshade AND bittersweet all on that one instrument? Is that right?

Man, we have to see that when it's finished!

Is this your design, or his?

Thanks for posting,

Steve

Joe; You got me! actually it's simple now that it's inlaid in the spruce!!!!!! (until the next segment.)

Steve, I created the floral design for a client. He supplied the types of flowers he wanted integrated into it. He also supplied a piece of the "Liberty tree" wood which he wants incorporated into the design. Some thought going into that one!

Thanks for looking.

Really beautiful work.  Did you cut the inlays by hand, or were they done on a CNC?  Either way, the finished work is really, really nice.
