It was a blast and it was frantic. Sure wish I didn't have dial-up.    Hard to react quickly enough, but I did great!   Got two German spruce tops, a spalted maple drop top, Koa b/s set, and a sycamore b/s set, all BEAUTIFUL!! They all came from uncle Bob and of course I ordered some other materials from Bob's store to go along with the swap stuff, so I am anxiously awaiting a wonderful package of zoot. Tried to buy from others but was always a hair toooooo late. Thanks, Bob and everyone else!

Your right Hesh that was a lot of fun.I picked up some curly redwood and Eir from Brad. I`m gonna make a wedge shaped guitar for my nephew.Should be fun.I also picked up a binding jig from Brock,which I needed desperately.I can`t wait until the next swap meet.

I had a lot of fun.  I got a set of striped mahogany back and sides, quilted maple back and sides, and 2 curly redwood tops.  I also bought some rosette blanks to round out the order.  Best of all I got to make my first purchases from the one and only Zootman!  For some reason, that makes me feel like I have just gone through some kind of right of passage.

   I was lucky that Chris V. sent me a message that the Swap was starting. I had just returned home from a weekend at the coast with the family, and didn't figure it was going to happen for a while.

   I picked up some tuners, bass pickups, book, and HHG(thank you Steve, Bruce, and Brad). I have been thinking about an electric bass for a while. Now I have to build it .

   I really wish I had been paying more attension to the tools and especially jigs that were posted. I found myself looking through the topics wishing I had got there quicker .

   A super big thanks to Brock, Lance, Charliewood, and everyone who participated.

I got too much stuff, broke the bank account, and will be in serious you know what if I can't properly store (hide) the stuff before my wife sees it.
I bought at least 4 back and side sets, one top, 2 fretboards and 25 maple bindings.

It was a feeding frenzy!

The Swap Meet was great!!! I must admit to a monumental and enjoyable case of WAS and, as George Carlin so aptly describes it, SAS. ("stuff" acquisition syndrome.)

I got 2 snakewood fretboards from Brad Goodman which will be added to my stash for future builds.

Some truss rods from Bruce Dickey to use in SS builds. (just getting started on my first OM)

A really nice bending form and mold for a Hauser classical that has the cutaway piece included from Paul Woolson.

A set of videos on French Polishing and Intonation from Simon.

Back to Brad for a nicely figured set of Claro Walnut and a curly redwood top.

Over to Rich Fry for a unique spalted maple drop-top.

Then to Bob C. for Engleman and WRC tops.

WHEW!! I'm really going to enjoy using all of these and putting them to good use. (I promise )

My sincere thanks to Lance, Brock and all of the participants for an excellent and very worthwhile endeavor. This is a great community and I often feel humbled by the skills, generosity and sharing that takes place here.

I knew I would have something to sell and wouldnt you know it that they finally arrived this afternoon.....  Oh well, I'll have some goodies to trade off at the next swap meet!

I had a great time at this swap meet. The last swap meet I didn't get anything, but this time...... I was ready.

I got a nice set of Bubinga b/s from Bruce Dickey (Two sets actually, but I'm splitting it with Charliewood)

I got a nice set of Pau Rosa on a trade with Dr. David White (The Canuck, not the Brit )

Shane stepped up to the plate (as usual ) with a nice "stray" Aussie Blackwood side piece for some bindings and tail piece (I might even be able to get a headstock plate out of it if I'm good enough on the saw)

Finally I picked up a #6 Stanley/Bailey plane from Bruce Dickey. I've been wanting one of these for awhile and I must say that I'm very happy with the $ too.

It was very fun to log onto the forum and head right there, just to see what was new, who bought what and all in all the great time I had just ohhh-ing and awwww-ing over all the zoot, tools, jigs and stuff.

What a great time, Christmas in May. Looking forward to the next one, but not for about 5-6 months please

{psssst!} OK, my wife just left the room. Got a Bocote set, a binding bit and bearings, and a gallon of KTM-9. That's a "fix" for my WAS, TAS, and FAS! Hey, is FAS a new heretofore unknown disease?

Saw many great deals go flying past me. You know, the kind that sort of make you feel good that you are able to exercise restraint, yet later will haunt me as stuff I shoulda jumped on!

I'd recommend in the future maybe a bit more advance warning, to let buyers stock up on cash, and give sellers a better chance to shake the woodwork to see what falls out.

I hope the sellers did OK, 'cause I know the buyers did!

It was a great swap meet! I was way to slow on things I needed or just wanted but I did manage to get a few Braz. fingerboards and some C. maple bindings. Thanks for doing this Lance and Brock! I'll be ready for the next one!

and last but certainly not least,
4 BRW fret boards, 4 BRW bridge blanks and a German Spruce top from the Zootman.

I had it all shipped directly to my office, so I can sneak it home and into my shop sight unseen from the boss.

What a week.  Now I have to actually do something with all that.

Brazilian Rosewood Faux Bound Fretboard and Bridge from CNCGuitarParts.com, our own John Watkins. I got four assembled Backs and Tops Sets, Sitka and 1Ziricote, 3Pomele Sapele. Then a Ziricote Bridge to match the backset. And then I begged John to throw in one of his pyramid bridges which he did for a very resonable sum. Thanks John!

I resisted the urge to buy wood (in part because, well, I've got some nice redwood a-coming as well as a few bits and bobs from the Zootcave, and it's going to be difficult enough smuggling those past in-house customs as it is, and in part because I've actually pretty much run out of places to put the wood).

I did, however, take up Bruce on his most excellent deal on some K&K systems. I have two pure westerns already, so I got myself a trinity upgrade kit, a trinity and a pure preamp - one of the guys I'm building for isn't sure he wants/needs/has the cash for a full-blown trinity at this moment in time. Still, me happy!

I got busy and did not add the rest of the stuff I had for sale.... darnit

Well, I may have gone a little overboard, But, WOW! Do I have some stock!

This all came at a good time. I have just finished my new guitar shop, and I installed the tuners I
got from Bruce Dickey on my new dread. They look outstanding with the ebony buttons!

I was a bit slow at first but patience is a virtue. I eventually won Uncle Bob's auction of curly Macassar Ebony that he DONATED to the forum. Thanks Bob and Lance.

Threads like this are just self-promotion of the worst kind, and they lower us to the level of arrogant, materialistic pigs - and I, for one, hate myself when I act this way!

That said, I'm drunk with zoot so here's the loot:

3 sets of chrome Grover Rotomatics, 2 sets of ebony buttons
1 Set of very impressive Koa, jumbo size
5 traditional ebony bridges, wide saddle
A plane of some sort that has yet to be decided

I got my butt kicked--had a real hard time beating some of you guys to the punch
I did have a blast thought and managed to get a few sitka tops, QS Redwood top and purfs from Bob C.
Walnut B&S set from Brad G and same maple bindings from Rod. I also managed to get a gorgeous quilted saplele set from Bill Green via trade.
I should have listed more things for sale, I just wasn't prepared--maybe we could get a little more advance notice next time to get all our inventory photo'd and ready to list.
Thanks to all that made this happen, I sure had a great time!
