I have always used clear pickguards because I don't want to detract from a beautiful guitar. However, on my current buld, the OLF SJ 12 string I was debating a traditional pickguard with the sunburst.
What do you all think? Clear? colored??? what color???

Andy, id have to see it completed. With and with out to get a better idea. I think it would look great either regardless.
Ya know, one of those Tor-Tis guards with the lighter color flecks may be pretty sweet.

The one on the left...

Andy, OK as is known I'm not big on sunbursts, nor do I like pickguards. That said I think that a nice tortoise pickguard on there would set it all off. The colour match would be great.

I think it's really a no brainer, put a tortoise pickguard on.
