Do you know any thing about these guitars? A friend is thinking about buying a Morgan Monroe Serenade. I'm not familiar with this builder.

Don't know much, Dave. I've seen their instruments in catalogs (Elderly carries them). They make a whole line of instruments including banjos basses and mandolins, as well as guitars. Pretty fancy looking but priced sort mid level. Don't know about the quality, though.

They are imported from Asia. I do not know the exact country of manufacture (probably China). The parent company/distributor (SHS Audio International) is located here in Indianapolis. I have worked on a few of their more recent "vintage voiced" M series acoustics that were damaged in shipment. They seem to be great guitars for the money and the sound is fuller and better balanced than most import models in this price range.

From reviews I have read they are hit and miss on quality tone. Some are quite good and some are inferior and it does not seem to be consistent among models.
