Well, I broke down and called AllParts today re. the Gotoh tuners. These were the locking tuners whose threaded bushings were not long enough to reach the housing. Turns out that Gotoh's locking tuners have shorter housings, and use longer bushings. It was a simple matter of being mismatched at the distributor--I was sent the wrong bushings. Harry, from AllParts, said he'd mail me the correct bushings free of charge. (Harry is just a fine guy!) Anyway, this story has a happy ending, and I appreciate your help.
