First off, I'm not a sponsor and I don't intend to offer items like this for sale here or anywhere else. Just wanting to get rid of the extras I have in the shop.

Second off, I PM'd Lance and Brock last week to check and see if it would be ok for me to sell these left over blocks and I got the A.O.K :geek:

So, what I have are 7 blocks left over from making myself some new fretboard radius sanding blocks. The blocks are 3" wide x 1-3/8" thick x 16" long. The are made from 3 pieces of 1" eastern hard maple, laminated together with opposing grain direction to help counter warping. These blocks are dead level (in my 45%RH shop) and could easily have sandpaper on the flat side to make a nice flat sanding block as well or on one of the edges.

Actually, 1 of the blocks is under 1-3/8" (my test block) I think about 1-5/16" and is cut to 16" radius the remaining blocks are not radiused yet.

So, here's what I'm offering. The first 6 people who want a block get to pick from 5 different radius' to have the block cut to (12", 14", 16", 18" or 20") , the 7th will get the 16"R test block (or just say you want the test block)

$40 per block plus shipping. The 16" test block I'll sell for $35 as it's under 1-3/8" thick (marginally really but still smaller).

Here's a picture again of the jig used to make the blocks

And here are the two blocks I made for myself, I'm going to cut grooves in one to clear the frets for a clamping caul. You can see the differing grain orientation on the ends.

Post here if you want one and what radius you want it cut too but pm me your shipping information. Payment will be paypal.

Rod...put me down for one 16" radius block. Hey I could have spent a lot more for an Aluminim one at StewMac...now I can blow the balance on wood.

Thanks much for the offer. I'll PM you my address.

You got it JJ, actually when you emailed me with great interest a couple days ago, I took your block out of the total here, so I still have a total of 7 blocks left :D .

Rod,

Just to confirm my prior order for a 12" and a 16". What a great deal...thanks bud!

Rod in lieu of payment PM me with what we can do in trade for a back/side set from my stash and we can figure out how to settle up. How's that sound?

Hi Rod,

I'll take a 16" radius block if you still have any left. I've been needing one of these for awhile.

Thanks!

John

Ok so here's what we have so far,

JJ and Anthony's where pre-determined so their blocks where not in the 7 total.

John Elshaw 1 - 16"
GregH 1 - 16"
Skyhigh David 1 - 16" (by pm notice)
Lillian gets the 16" test block (by pm notice)

I'll get shipping and total payment info to you all by tomorrow night.

So that means I have 3 blocks left for the taking.

Terry, you won't be the first one to have that problem. I didn't tell Sweetie what the link was when I sent it. I'll have make amends for that one later. The dogs are mad at me too.

Rod honey, the world can tell you gave it all you had right up to the very end. You are an amazing man, sending that out into the world for all to hear.

Yes Hesh, I still have 2 blocks left. The router bit collet let loose a bit tonight when cutting one of the blocks so I'll keep that one as it's now 1-1/4" thick, unless someone wants a thinner one.
