Who is planning to be at the open house next weekend? I'm really looking forward to meeting some OLF members.

I'll be there.

Is there going to be a swap meet? I have stuff I'd love to liquify or trade if we're going to do this.

Looking forward to it, in any case!

I really wanted to attend this Open house at Blues Creek but a prior commitment (Toronto trip to Anthony Z's with JJ, Alain, & Rod True to see Tommy Emanuel and a visit to Grit Laskins shop on Sunday) will prevent me from attending.
Have a great time guys. John has lot's of good things in store for you. bliss

I've been planning on going all along. I'm beginning to fear that the one guitar I wanted to bring for comment isn't going to be ready to go, even "in the white".

Hey Steve - It doesn't look like I'll be able to get there. :( Have fun and say hi to John for me. It should be a lot of fun! [:Y:]

The Lat and Long might be more helpful:

Lat 40.6635
Long -76.5193

See everyone there.

I was planning on coming, but now I'll be in Florida shopping for a new house as mine just sold. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone, but in this market, I'll take the good news...

Bring it anyway - there will be some first-time builders there that would benefit from seeing some in-progress work. I personally find that stuff in the white is more interesting than the finished guitars...I can always pick up some tips from looking at someone else's work.

I will - I got the frets on last night, and am working on crowning and dressing them now. The bridge is finished and ready for gluing, so it may happen.

I'm bringing my failed first attempt, too - a Martin OM kit that needs the neck removed and reset properly.
This guitar was a nightmare from the start. It was built in my garage in the summer, no humidity control, before I knew any better, and the first time dry weather came, the back sank.

I will be there - and really looking forward to it. I just got a new high Def camcorder, so I will plan to bring that along in case Matt Lauer wants to do a piece about this on the Today Show :D.

My wife and I were planning on going, but my job has changed my mind as I was scheduld to work next weekend. This should be a very good get-together. John has been very supportive of my building with two distinct and slightly unusual small bodied Martin clone kits. Its fired me up to the point of tooling up for scratch building. I was very much looking forward to meeting him and the mid-Atlantic OLF bunch. Next time for sure.

I am off rt 81. withing 15 minutes from tower city exit or hegins. Map quest will get you here very well. Phone # 570 682 8046 if you get lost call
From hegins rt 81 S turn right off the exit. Off 81 N turn left. as you come down the mountain you will come though Fountain. After that in few minutes you will be in Hegins. As you go through the town you will pass the Lutheran churn and Cemetery you will next watch for the Midway Super market and turn right on Forrest drive. That is about 1 1/4 from the center of the town. Pass the Midway and Family Dollar you will come to a stop sign. This is about 1/2 mile past the Midway. Go straight up the Farm lane. You will see a rock on your left that marks the driveway back to the house and shop.
We are to the RIGHT. Please avoid the white house and Barn as they are an unfriendly lot there. Please be safe and feel free to bring anything you need to to trade or sell

Had this been scheduled for any other weekend, I would have been there for sure. The Toronto gathering was set up 6 months ago. Good luck on the meeting John and be sure to give my regards to Brenda.

c u there. Sheesh Todd! 2 hours? The cops pull you over at about 76 mph up here.... Md may allow up to low to mid 80's... But I know you'll be there at 10 [:Y:]

Glad you're bringing a crew too. Should be fun to hook up with you all again, looking forward to it.

Looking forward to visiting with John and Brenda too!

So, it's 10:00 starting time? I believe 9:00 had been mentioned at one point, so I wanted to confirm that it is, in fact, 10:00. It would be very hard for me to get there by 9.

For the swap meet, I plan to bring several back and side sets of various woods and some other stuff, including an OLF SJ mold made by none other than John Hall (I checked with him, and he said that would be fine).

Also, if any of you have a guitar finished in polyester by Joe White that you could bring, I would greatly appreciate having the opportunity to see one of his finishes.

So, doors open at 9:00... does that mean that 9:00 is our official starting time, in terms of demonstrations that will be done and that sort of thing? Or will that get rolling at 10:00? Thanks.
