Hi, I've been reading this forum for a while, and I finally decided to register. It seems to have lots of helpful and experienced people and some great information (and, of course, amazing guitars).
My first build was pretty bad, but it was a learning experience. I would have said It's my first build, so what do you expect, but after seeing the dueling dragons build that no longer seems like a good argument. I just recently finished my second build, and it went much better.

So here it is.
It's a curly maple/mahogany semi hollow with a coccobolo fretboard.





Please tell what you think (be honest!), construction and design-wise.

I think it looks pretty sweet . I dig the wood choices and the Rick-inspired f holes. The only I'm not crazy about is the disparity between the horns (size and radius), but I really dig everything else about it. Great job!

That is awesome! I love it! Reminds me of the PRS SE semihollows, but this looks a bit better. Perhaps not as clean, but it has great form.

Now you know what you gotta do right? Do one just like that, but with a burst or a good dye job. Wooden knobs and bridge please

Thanks! The lower horn was meant to be a bit thicker, but when I cut out the body there was a bit of a dip there, so I had to sand it down until it was like that.



It sounds pretty good. Pretty bluesy, with some nice acoustic-y complexity to the tone.



Thanks, Ian. lol, I thought about staining it purple, but I was too cheap to buy colortone or transtint dyes. I messed with aniline dyes for a bit, but I couldn't get results I liked better than the natural finish test piece I did for comparison. It originally had wood knobs, but I thought it clashed with the chrome pickups, so I replaced them with the chrome ones.
