I can't speak for vaginas as a whole, but the ones I've come across have all seemed pretty sensitive.

I don't need any help, going through this thread shows clearly which of you has the sand planted firmly in their vaginas. Hint, you're definitely one of them, so when can I expect you to be planting those tulips? ;)

Wow. I've not checked in here for a few months. This thread really got out of hand.

I got some good help here when I built my first and only guitar. Getting ready to start another.

Mr. JEguitars: Please take your nasty ass out of here. Maybe you were expecting some sort of hero worship for your super-secret new scale length and whatever else you've. But you have done quite a good job of showing us what a low-class D-bag you are. So now that that is settled, you can leave and we'll go back to offering each other encouragement and advice, which is what this forum is all about.

Chuck...a little confused. You seemed emphatic in a previous thread that I was a larger-than-usual example of the male sexual appendage, but now concur with Jimmy that I am actually a vagina.

Are you sure you're not getting me confused with Chris V.?

I don't have any direct knowledge of your "appendage", as you put it.

Gentlemen, please do not mock the concept of 'new' scale lengths - all the instruments I have built have scale lengths that deviate form the established norms for their respective class. This was however, completely unintentional and as a result of minor mishaps in construction... however, now I have the benefit of this thread and advice of established pros, seems I can use this to differentiate myself in a crowded market. Do you you think I have any chance of maybe getting a patent on this and thus ensuring that any other makers who follow this production method and result in 'new' and innovative scale lengths owe me a commercial fee, or at least have to acknowledge me as the originator?

I am already planning my marketing campaign around this - naturally will be aimed at those in the R+R hall of fame, as sems they like these 'new' ideas. Thoughts?

With all this talk about vaginas and male appendages, I thought I had logged into the wrong forum this morning. Can we just get back to guitars and goats? Which, as we all know, go together like peanut butter and motor oil.

Thing is Tony, scale lengths seem to be a bit like male appendages - an extra inch or so can make a huge difference, and I dare say many a builder has often considered telling the customer its actually 25.5, when in reality its only a 24?... and just look at what John lennon managed with a humble 23 and bit!

You make a vaild point. At least, I will assume it is valid because I don't feel like using google to verify John Lennon's scale length. Carry on with the pee-pee jokes then.

Tony, It's really important that you get the order of your forum logins correct in the mornings. The wrong order can make a mess of your day!

Filippo

A fact, Filippo, that had not gone unnoticed by me today.

One minute we're talking about goats...the next it's appendages and their hall of fame scale lengths. Then there's Tony...where you can't EVER tell where the appendage ends and the goat begins.

I'll tell you what I'D like to negative X brace...

...this thread...

...unless this post bumps it to page six.

Edit...dam.n.

I think this vid needs to be included in a thread with as much gender confusion and nonsensical claims of concept ownership as this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTOH8QK-6HA

BTW I have a new design coming out whereby I place a humbucker on the back of the guitar that picks up movements of the zipper opening whenever the player decides to have a wank. I call it "the JE negative wank-pickup"

This thread would rule if ya'll we as funny as you're trying to be. Jesus, a negative wank pickup, it's so stupid I'm at a loss on how to truly insult it. It's so dumb it's more of an insult that you formed that thought in your head and deemed it good enough to post. And Fil, just reminds me of a really bad comedian that blames the audience when his awful material bombs.

You two are taking something that was fun and just killing it, your post counts are increasing and it's making me sad. :(

Because when Chris replies it's because WE'RE mad, when someone else does it it's because THEY'RE mad.

Hey Chris, remember when all the guys jumped on you at the other place and you got all mad and whiney and was crying "just take down all my tutorials if ya'll don't want me here." I remember! You want everyone to be educated on lutherie, unless they ask questions or get tired of you.

Jimmy - in all seriousness you need to take a deep breath and look at what you and how you have posted again - and admit it does look a little silly.

I dont think anyone is saying that its a bad idea to try and be innovative - especially when looking to differentiate yourself from what is a crowded market - but innovation has to be true innnovation, not simply somthing already tried and (most likely failed commercially), passed of as something of your own and truely new.

1. Your inlay - you were not the first and wont be the last it can look quite cool for a certain genre - its a nice inlay, but not unique and I would certainly not advocate hanging your 'brand' on it

2. Your on board pick up phaser thing - sounds like an on board phaser - something vox did in the 60s and there is a reason why these on board effects never seem to take off - a0 they are never as good as outboard effects, and its easier in a live situation to use your foot whilst playing, rather than worry about switches when you already have vol, tone and pu selection to worry about whilst playing

3. Scale length - sorry, but nothing innovative here - simply an 'alternative' - we already have Rickenbacker's shortscale all the way to Baritone and everything in between - the last truely innovative scale length/fretting things were probably Ashbury's short scale Bass in the 80s with 'rubber strings' -or Sanden's intonation compensated fretting... Buzz feiten etc.

4. Rock n Roll hall of famers - really? and does it matter? you say you dont advertise, yet throw this in as if we are meant to be impresssed - if you have interest form professional and successful musicians, great, folks on here tend not to be envious, but encourage success, but you have not provided any details and expect folk to accept it as truth regardless of the inconsistencies of your posts - generally if it smells like BS, looks like BS etc etc.

Yep there are some huge egos in this guitar building malarky - some of which have been earned - but in general modesty and honesty make for far better 'brand' identities, than all the BS. No matter how impressive you think it all sounds, no one will be impressed.

EVERYBODY has poop fits, some more public than others.

Except ME, of course.

I HAVE seen some signs that JE Guitars just wants to have fun, and can take some good natured ribbing about his goofy ideas, so let's be nice and forgive him, and see where it goes....

Wow, was looking up Myka guitars and stumbled across this........ It's obvious that JEguitars is messing with all of you and looks like he is doing a great job of it. Not saying it's right, but I did have a few chuckles reading this nonsense. As far as his guitars and theories go, I know nothing about how his theories would pan out and how they will go, but it's nice to see someone trying to do something new. I like that inlay too, very cool. Also the prior work of yours that got posted seems like pretty solid work to me. ALL of you need to learn how to take a joke because it's apparent he is pulling your strings, and JE, just stop while you're ahead. You could potentially lose a customer over this crap talk, rock and roll hall of fame not withstanding of course {thats a joke dont jump me!}

It's time to cut Jimmy some slack, I can relate. I don't do comissions anymore, but I did do a few and didn't care for it much. Now I build what I want, and if it's good enough to sell, and somebody wants to buy it, it's sold. And all my guitars have my ultra-strong hybrid laminated/scarfed headstock joint that I designed years ago. I was/am quite proud of it, it's probably the strongest design around, and I did come up with it completely on my own. Now I know it's overkill, and it has probably been done by others before me, but I still use it and call it "my" design. bliss
Besides, he's in Big Spring, Texas. That's probably punishment enough, unless living in a desert in the middle of nowhere sounds like fun. By the way, Jimmy. Do you have any relatives around Conroe, Texas? My high school drafting teacher was Jimmy Edwards.
Now that I think about it, humidity wouldn't be much of a problem! laughing6-hehe

This comment is offensive beyond belief! You talk about tolerance in your post but at the same time write something so hateful and hurtful. What kind of human being says such things about people with disabilities?
