I just strung up this guitar today. I am letting it settle in, but it sounds like it is going to be a good sounding guitar. The top is pitched at 191 Hz right now. After the guitar settles in and I have it setup the way I want it I will see if I want to do any modal tuning. As this one's for me it kept be pushed to the back burner for other commissioned projects.

The color is pretty true in the last picture of the body. I was afraid of the osage orange color. Before finishing the instrument I put it out in the sun for a couple of days. I like the warm Brown\Orange it is now. From what I have heard it will continue to darken. I still am on the fence on liking the color combination between the top and the sides. As the Osage orange darkens I am feeling better. And in light that does not pull out the red of the top it looks great. Like the picture of the guitar lying on its back.

Top: Western Red Cedar
Back and Sides: Osage Orange
Bindings and headstock veneer Brazilian Rosewood.
Rosette is a amboyna burl ring with rope purflings
Traditional Shellac French Polish on top of a Silvertip Epoxy pore fill.
Spanish heel constructed on my solera Hauser 37 body size
650 Scale
This is one braced with falcate braces and no lower transverse bar.

That's a great looking guitar. I like the look of the Osage Orange. It'll be interesting to see how the color changes over time.

That is a beautiful guitar. The color is lovely. Perhaps we should do as the flooring guys do and rebrand it "North American Pernambuco". Maybe then people would not "dis" the color.

I love the final color, with out finish and just cut it is an ugly yellowish orange. That is why I was nervous. I love the color now and will also be happy as it darkens with age.

The color combination will be very nice, in my opinion

I have built a couple in Osage Orange. It does tone down. Here is a small parlor at completion and about 9 months later. The neck is unstained Mahogany and the heel cap is boxwood
