I am about to start a build, and the guy wants onboard EQ like ones that Martin/Taylor includes with their acoustic/electric guitars.

Problem is I do not think their pickups are available separately without buying their guitars (unless I am wrong and you can point me to where I can buy them).

But I have not seem many pickups that have onboard EQ, most seem to be standalone pickups that requires you to use external EQ.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

By the way I really love piezo. It sounds good and requires no batteries, but some people just want onboard EQ/tuner...

Buy LR Baggs. All they do is sell pickups.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
