$225 for all of it. When I went to look at it I found everything to be too short or narrow for my needs and no book matching. I wonder if I should have bought anyway, maybe someone here that builds ukes or parlors might have wanted it.

Looks like a good opportunity for a uke/parlor builder like you said to stock up!

Back when you could buy an "opportunity" grade of EIR for $35 a set the asking price seems rather high. Now, that - most - of the EIR being sold looks like opportunity grade it seems more reasonable. It's hard to judge what's behind the front row, but if is similar to the wood we see, the wood might have some lutherie uses, especially for those building smaller instruments (as you mentioned).
In this Era of dwindling resources we are still blessed with an abundance of quality materials selected and processed for our use. There is no doubt in my mind that Torres would have used much of the wood we reject for being too narrow and mismatched.
What is useful to one person, is useless to another. Sometimes it is better to "pass" on what might be a good deal for someone else.

P.S. If you wanted to use it for fingerboards you could laminate it to another piece of wood (curved substrate) and bind the edges. if it ever wore through it would be time to replace the fingerboard anyway. Some old fiddles had an ebony face veneer on the fingerboard and black dyed edges.

I have a real nice supply of fretboard bazillion and ebony stock that was given to me. Plus I have a rosewood back that I screwed up that I can use for pegheads or possibly a uke so this wood just sit on my shelf. I sure hope some uke builder finds it though.

I would have passed on that for that price too. IT looks like nothing but a bunch of head plaates.

The circular saw marks are neat. I have a few similar pieces that came from Martin. It probably predates the sawmill that Martin had built, since it was a band mill.

3 piece backs?

EIR is getting harder to find and more expensive. You’ll probably be happy you have that some day. If you don’t build 3 piece backs and unmatched sides, you at least have a large amount of binding, peghead, and inlay material.

Nice find, but 225 Bucks would have also held me back.
