Ok I just have to show off this cedar top I got from Alaska specialty,,,, W mineral spirits
Tempted to save it until I’m a better builder !
My son looked at it and said ... “it’s like a rainbow” ha

This top is from our Earthone Red Cedar sort.
All the colors are the result from decades of water saturation, from the 10+ feet of annual rainfall that permeated the blowdown found in the forest. The tree/s like this are covered with a 4+ inch layer of moss, small-medium size trees growing on it.
The water mingles with the oil of the cedar[different than pitch of spruce and pines and hemlock] and causes an emulsion of sorts. Because oil and water don't really mix. Anyway this is the natural result of lots of time and water.

I bought 3 of these tops they are all nice but this one was a stand out

So you must like the very contrasting color. I have a few more of those. That mottle is kinda cool.
