A few years ago I made a 40' radius dish using a 1/4" and a 3/4" piece of MDF. I put a spacer in the center and ran it through the drum sander, took it apart a flipped the 1/4" piece and reinstalled it. It came out pretty good.

Today I ran it through the drum sander to clean it up and I noticed there was hardly any dish left on the 1/4" side but the 3/4" side had a perfect radius. I'm totally baffled by this. Seems the 1/4" side is stronger or something. Any way, I'm going to put some fresh paper on it after I put some poly on it.
