Well, the bindings are on and now I just need to scrape sand and finish... Maybe I'll send this one to Tony!

In certain light, the rosette looks red. Straight on it's obvious it's abalone. Can you describe it? (Or have you already, and I'm just late? ) What did you border the pearl with?
