Has anybody here ever seen a neck joint on a Tacoma? I was at a local luthier's shop the other day and noticed one that he was working on. I wish I would have taken a better look at it because the top of the neck block was routed out just like a Stratocaster neck pocket. Any one familiar with this one?

I actually have a Tacoma (Jumbo Koa), but I've never taken the neck off it. From inside the box you see two hex bolts in the headblock. No idea what the tennon looks like, though. I will say that the heel is a bit untraditional, much wider and flatter; the profile of the heel cap is a "D" shape.

I have never worked on or ownedd a Tacoma but It sounds likeit may be a bolt-down FB extension set-up ie. the Fretboard is completly indapendent of the top and bolted to and extesion of the neck block. Or be a knock- off of Taylor's newer set-up, a shimable neck set.
