Sorry you disagree. But I don't see it that way. We don't judge a man (or woman) by their works. I am not knocking Bruce. I am knocking the fact the because one big mouth opens it, we all are subject to what comes out...perhaps to a much greater degree than what was intended by our forefathers "freedom of speech". In this case we have one member "demanding" that the owner of the forum undue something that he (the owner)saw fit ... for whatever reason. It's brock's and lance's sand box. we are just invited to play.

I don't see this as something relative to how many posts i have or have not made. Whether my first , 10000th, or my last post, that has no bearing on the message.

just because someone starts something ( like one of these projects) does not give him/her special rights either. Like I said if his concern is getting the project done ( and therfore the benefit of completion to the benfactor) then let him get to it. Take it over and finish it. You don't "need a Village" (as we have been told) to finish a guitar.

I wonder if you would have the same opinion if I were white. I don't see any posts here from those of other cultures/ethnicities.

I agree with JJ. Bruce was just trying to get things moving again as they seemed to have stalled.

Hope your future posts are on a little more positive note.

This is just too bizarre to even dignify with a response!

We don't attack people here...we only deal with facts and ideas.

Couldn't agree with you more brother Hesh. By the way can ANYONE on this forum tell what my ethnic back ground is? My Avitar may or may not be me!

hesh,

I am glad you feel the need to "stick up" for one of your cronies. I however still don't see what was so offensive. Nor do I see how many times or how long I've been "hangin" here has to do with what "status" I have among the community. Is my speech somehow sensored or my opinion somehow guarded because I am a first time poster. Some welcome.

I was just agreeing with what everyone else had already said. Seemed to me the "whiner" was a "pain the arse" and was not being reasonable or thoughtful to the rest of the community. I realy could care less who, what or where he is good at or what he has done.

With that said...let me tell you that I have been watching this site for a long time...before you even came along. So let me just say I have seen much. But saying that I am playing a race card is just down right racist in and of itself. HOW DARE YOU! I never said I was anything other than white. YOU infer that I am something else and then accuse me of being a racist. SHAME ON YOU!

Now that we have that out of the way "can't we all just get along?" Thanks for the welcome. I would love to talk to you about "cuttin some wood" someday. You seem like a nice guy.

Do like "DA Bears"?

Everyone exists in a context, and that context helps us understand where
someone is coming from.

These projects are important to Bruce, and visioned as community
projects. The village involvement in the two guitars is very much their
purpose. I'm sure that's why Bruce hasn't taken them and finished them
himself.

Every couple of months he makes sure everyone is up to date with what's
going on. Their nature simply has them moving at a different pace than
the main forum. He's actually demonstrated a lot of patience in that
regard.

The number of posts you have here typically indicates how long you've
been visiting and how much background/context is going into your posts
pointed at someone in particular. Your posts indicate the context isn't
there, or some sort of barrier that prohibits your understanding of it.

I just came back from a lao church service. My city has the second
highest concentration of hmong refugees in America. My church has a
lao service, and about once a month we flip flop our language so we can
experience life the way many of the refugees do.

None of the three schools I've worked at has a majority caucasion student
body. In fact, the two elementary school has under 20 white kids
combined. The high school I'm at now has 200 white students out of
2700.

I know a lot of Americans tend to be biased when it comes to ethnicity,
but that doesn't seem to be the case at all in this thread. Most people
seem to be responding to your content.

This thread is boardering on rediculous. Yet, for some reason I feel compelled to add to it.
Most of my frustration is with "wiseman" and the tone/language used in these posts.
1) the most disturbing is your use of the so-called race card. You can be offended if you wish but you indeed started this whole thing about race. And I quote:
"I wonder if you would have the same opinion if I were white. I don't see any posts here from those of other cultures/ethnicities." My main question to this is how the heck would JJ have a clue what color your skin was. And even if he somehow did, why would he care?
2) if you've been lurking around here as long as you claim you have, you would know the history of these two guitars. No it doesn't take a village to build a guitar. I, or pretty much any other builder here, could have built them in about 1/10th the time it has taken to build them as a group. But that's not the point. The point is for them to be a community effort with many hands collaborating to make one unique instrument. It's a very difficult project. It never fails that it lands on someone's doorstep the second that their plate has become overfull. And since none of us are doing these two guitars for money, it makes it kind of tricky to bark at people for not working in a timely fashion. I think Bruce has done a bang-up job with that.

So maybe before you post again, you should remember who this community is. Again, if you've been lurking for so long, you'd know that we simply don't talk to each other like that. There's no place on this forum for name calling, PERIOD. Take that kind of stuff to yahoo or google groups where they seam to enjoy that kind of behavior.

Paul, thanks for your comments. I completely agree.

Id also like to put an end to this absolutely none productive topic.
Nothing positive is coming out of it, and I can see it heading no where but down. So I will exercise my admin buttons and locker down for better or worse.

Thanks

NOW! How'bout some FOOTBALL!
