I have a solid paduk 1/8" ring inside enlarged soundhole-now hole =4". Do I need the soundhole braces or need to modify them. Guitar OM

I would say, yes. The braces that run from the upper arms of the X to the upper traverse brace stiffens the area that has been weekened by the should hole cutout.
I use 3 here, for my om's one on each side of the sound home and one across the bottom above the X.
You can almost see the brace below the sound hole.

Have you ever not scaloped the braces on your OM? Just wondering if might have, and what difference you may have noticed.
