How is it used for bending? (soak time, spray, immersion etc....

Is there an issue with finish and adhesives?

1) Spray
2) Wait minimum of 2 hours
3) Bend normally

No finish or adhesive issues after 4 guitars

Interesting, JJ.  Others have recommended spraying, wrapping in Kraft paper, letting dry for a couple of days, then bending with normal process.  I like your idea better.

Here is another question.  I have a set of sides for my current builld, Zebrawood, that have cupped.  I have sprayed the, inside side of the cup with water, and re-stickered, but they seem not to be flattening out completely, even after two applications of water.  Would it work to spray them with Super-Soft II, flatten them out, then thickness, then bend?  Would I have to use SS again, or just wet and bend?  I'll be using a bending iron.

You want the Glycol to be absorbed into the wood fiber thoroughly. This takes longer than a couple hours on a back and side set. You want the wood to dry to avoid chemical staining. A couple hours may work well with thin veneers but on a side set that is .08-.095 thick it will take much longer.

I spray wrap in kraft paper/rotate daily and bend on the third day.

JJ you are likely getting some aid from the SSII in just 2 hours but my experience is that Three days is more effective.

I think I've posted my routine so many times on this forum that I just got lazy and gave the Cliff's Notes version.

I typically have waited overnight but have also found it to be effective within a few hours as long as it has absorbed. Some woods take longer...but if you feel better with 3 days, go for it.

Yes...I wrap in kraft paper and lightly spray the outside of the wrap with distilled water before bending normally.

This isn't rocket science!

I must say allthough products that make our life easyer are wonderfull
imho
the idea of spraying chemicals on to my wood makes me a little uneasy.

I thought that the introduction of the heat blanket made my life easyer
now i find there is another product for me to spend my hard erned cash
on

I havent tried this product so i am no position to poo poo it and for
dificult to bend timbers like paduak or brittle and expensive timber like
zirocote it sure seems like a wonderfull product but i for will think twice
before using any chemicals on easy to bend woods like mahogany (for
example)That i have no truoble bending by hand let alone with a blanket.

saying that i will buy a tub for my tricky woods as i am sure it will save
me money on possable broken sides.

Oh yes the reason i started writing, has anyone experienced buckling of
the sides once bent after using supersoft 2.

The only place I use it is on high figure or hard to bend woods. those are the most prone to warp/cup, which is what I think you mean by buckle. i have had no problems as that is a sign of access moisture not the ply-ability of the wood fiber. The heat from bending cooks out all excess moisture in my routine.

Waddy - you need to wet the convex side. Then sticker, weight and wait. Works most every time, except when it doesn't.

I bent some figured maple sides to a sharp cutaway form using SSII and it worked beautifully. I  let it dry overnight before bending, then moistened the wood before bending. I could almost bend it to shape without the form. no cracks, splits or any other damage found.
