Lance, here are some images of a neck block I did today. Because I use the crazy spanish foot thing, I have to make a compound angle on the neck block as well. When done everything sits up tight and it all looks really smooth.

Do you cut that by hand?

Yep, everything but the "W" which I had laser cut into the block.

Paul,

Very impressive looking. Love the lazer cut W.

What do you use to cover the face of the block where the bolt are?

Jeff

I haven't been covering the bolt heads. I can't come up with a good way to do it and still give me the access I need. I think the counter sunk holes at least make the bolt heads look "intentional".

Thank you Paul - that really clears it up - a picture is worth

Lance, I assume you don't use the foot like mine. With that in mind you still might think about making the block angle in both directions. One for the shape of the neck, the other so the cutaway flows into it nicely. If you leave it squared off 1) there isn't much surface to glue the cutaway to and 2) It looks like there is a huge gap between the block and side.
You can just eyeball the angle at which the cutaway comes into the block. The precise angle isn't really that important, if you get it close, it will look better than if you leave it squared off.

Nice work Paul! I?ve used a block copied from C.Fox on my Cutaway OM. Unfortunatly I have no photo, one difference to your system, my Cutaway follows a curve at the block, not a straight line. I was difficult to get the correct radius on top and back, also I used epoxy to glue the sides to the block, just to be sure if there is a slight gap between them.
