Was curious what adhesives everyone uses for gluing carbon fiber rods into their guitar necks (mahogany in this case). Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I'm no expert but I sould think epoxy or CA would do the trick. Maybe even polyurethane, although I'd be careful with the foaming. Cheers.

I've used epoxy, found it fiddly and messy (only had 5 minute stuff), Mario turned me to Polyurethane, which works fine. Needs good clamping, but a CF rod's not particularly difficult to clamp, really. Cleans up well (acetone), and the foam that does stick around chisels off well.

Ya, I use Gorilla Glue, it does foam out, but a little scraping takes care of that.

I've always used Titebond. I use the LMI rods and their router bit and the fit is very snug indeed. I just spread some Titebond along the slot, push down the rods, cover with baking parchment and then clamp the whole thing down. Has worked fine for me.

30 minute epoxy. There's not much to do other than apply the epoxy in the slot, insert the rod into the slot (it should be tight), put a waxed paper caul over the top and clamp for a few hours...unless, of course I'm missing something!

I use golf club shafting epoxy on CF rods, truss rod and FB. It will release with a (hot) heat gun or clothes iron too.Tim McKnight38747.8946990741
