I just started level sanding an uke I sprayed with KMT-9 and sanded through in a couple of places. I pore filled it with Z-poxy which I don't think I sanded through but I'm not sure. This leaves me w/ three questions:

1) How can I tell if I sanded through the Z-poxy too?

2) What's the best way to spot fill these sand throughs?

3) How long should I wait to let the spot filled areas harden before continuing to level sand?

TIA,

Roy

1. Is the color of the epoxy still there?

Most lilky just a wash of 60/40 zpoxy/alcohol in the sand through area will revive the color if you did go through. wait 24 hours seal that area with a thin wash of shellac.

2-3. After the wash of zpoxy/shellac as cured lightly rough up with 320p, lightly wipe with surrounding KTM9 with Denatured alcohol, allow to flash off and spray away 2-3 light coats. Let cure for a week and level and buff.MichaelP38929.4561111111

Hi Roy,
could that uke be from the plans I sent you? I'm really interested to see/
hear it if it is. Actually, as everyone here loves pics, it'll be great to see it
even if it isn't from the plans.

Hi Craig,

No, it's not from those plans. This is one I started ages ago and just can't seem to finish it up.

Hopefully, I will be doing a build from your plans later this year or early next year. I'll keep you posted.
