I glued up a back with HHG and have a small gap at the bottom of the joint which is going to cause problems. How do I get the joint unglued? Thought about using a damp wash cloth and an iron to create the steam to loosen the joint. Any other or easier solutions?

with hide glue you want moisture as well as heat.

if the plate is still rectangular and you have enough room, it is easiest to just rip it. if you have cut it to the rough shape moisture and heat will separate it.
