I'm still dealing with a few effects of my trip that have made it tough for me to get up let alone get to my computer for more than a few minutes since I've been home.

African food has a strange way of affecting an American Digestive system after a week or so and jet lag is a bear to overcome...expecially for a less than regular air traveler. Along with the food effects, I'm unable to use my left arm or hand due to my shoulder being immobilized right now.

Here is a single photo of the guitar built for the trip with a backdrop of the hills of Tanzania. It was taken next to the dirt airstrip where we landed during our two day excursion to the Massai Mara region west of Nairobi for a safari before we daparted for home. It was easy to realize how small and insignificant we are out there in those vast expanses of open land filled with huge numbers of wild animals. I'm glad that it gave me a true perspective of the fact that I am significant and can make a heavy impact in my home, though.

I'll post a short series of photos and some commentary on some of the experiences I had on the trip later, but wanted to drop a note now while I'm standing. I know how boring someone else's trip discussion can become quickly so I'll spare you all but the essentials. I'll also be posting a larger series of photos at a hosting drop for people to view if they're interested in the future.

Thanks,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars

A stunning photograph...I have been following this guitar thread on other forums...

BTW, the "digestive" troubles are extremely common for the average Westerner not used to high bacteria levels in Africa..my Husband's parents REALLY suffered upon their return to the UK from a missions trip for the Church...

Kevin,

WOW the guitar is amazing by itself but to see the Lion Head inlay blending into the tall African grass....

Priceless and poetic.
