I feel for you guys who are baking in the heat right now. For whatever strange reason, Houston is missing the brunt of it. The high temp today was about 90F with humidity in the low 50s.

Ideal BBQin' weather.

So I fired up both of our bbq grills and got busy. The 16lb brisket went on about 10am this morning and will be coming off about 11pm this evening. Still got a couple of hours to go as I write this.

Fired up the big grill around 6pm to do some baby backs and chicken. My SO, Bai Shin, is a master chef (with the pretty pieces of parchment to prove it), and I just get out of her way when she's cooking. Here she is applying some of her secret basting sauce. She decided to do a new rub for the brisket this time, and I can only speculate as to what all the ingredients were, but man, does it sure smell good. Driving the dog crazy, it is. But he always gets his share.

Gonna be good! If any of y'all ever decide to make it down Houston way, give me a holler and I'll fire up the grill, and ice down some cool ones.

Best,

Michael

Oh my, I feel a need to visit my brother in Victoria...

Michael, that looks like a master grade brisket you got going there. I just finished my PBJ with grape jelly, but now I'm hungry again.
