First off, I don't know the answer, I'd like to know!!!!!

it's light coloured, and smells of lemon when bandsawed or sanded vigorously.

I've used it for two necks. The mandonaught has been strung up for two months now and all is still fine & dandy, the dred I'll not get a chance to get near for another month, so it'll be October before I get it strung. I'd just like to know so that when people ask.........

thanks for any wisdom out there!!

and here it is with a little danish oil on there too.....

I believe that's Port Orford cedar.
But I guess considering you're near Oxford University that's a reasonable mistake!

Strictly speaking, not yet , but I have met Martin Edwards at a Christian festival in Northen Ireland...a really nice guy, easy to chat with, and it was sheer bliss discussing guitars like a couple of nerds!!! Got to play his mandonaught and handled the Acoustic Les Paul he made (I couldn't play it because I am left handed!!)

So I guess it was a kinda "unofficial" luthiers meet...it's a great idea to meet up regularly and show off creations though!!!! Nothing like seeing and touching the finished instrument in real life, after watching the progress on the web.Sam Price38931.7528587963

Ach ...I pray the remaining time off will pass slowly and pleasantly...

Well, at least you'll get back into guitar building again, a great incentive for returning to "the grind"...
