The client wanted a pic of his guitar, so I wiped the backs and sides a snapped a couple - too good not to let you guys in on it. Quilted sapele obviously from THE log thats around. The binding is bloodwood, maple/red/maple purfling lines, still needs to be scraped flush, get rid of the table saw burn mark !!

Wow. Does quilted sapele sound as good as it looks? OK, that might not be a fair question.

Well Steve .. thats always the plan, isnt it. ??? This guitar has a great master grade sitka top on it, stiff, lots of medullary rays, so there's hope. !!!

I must admit I amd a rosewood guy too, but close second is mahogany and pretty much any figured maple, which was my first love.

the binding choice was the clients - I had never used bloodwood before, but I am sold, its great stuff to use. I have a sister guitar in the works as well, but its from a less figured board from the same log. Same shape (florentine though) binding and purf.

Finish will be nitro, it will look about 4 inches deep once done.
