Jim, I made those strips myself.
Got some Koa veneer from *I think* B&B Rare Woods.
A good straight edge, a sharp Exacto knife, and bam, you've got some Koa purfling.

That is a wonderful combination of wood Steve, expertly assembled. I wa puting curly Koa on everything for a while but I ran out. Gotta get some more soon.

John, Todd, Mike, Russ, Joe, Don and Roy, many thanks for the great response.
Don, it was a fine gift, wasn't it? That's one of the huge benefits of having a fellow luthier in the family. And every Christmas now, the tradition is to give each other wood. But on the particular Christmas when I received this set, I think I went permanently into his debt. I'm not sure the customer realizes how special it is. Anyway, I'm glad you guys (hear that Jeanne?) like it.
