I thought I'd pass this tip along on piping for your dust collection system. The clear flexible hose with the wire inside runs about $19.95 per 10' length. When you want to hook up 4 or more machines it can become quite expensive. While re-vamping my system for the new Laguna I wanted to find a cheaper alternative.
Solution: 4" pvc drainage pipe from home depot. It is a lighter gauge pvc and costs $3.95 per 10' length. However the blast gates and plastic hose does not fit over this pipe. I found that if you cut off the hub end and then buy 4" to 3" pvc reducer the plastic hose fits very snug to the 3" OD of the reducer. Buy some 4" band clamps to attach it. You can use very short sections of flexible plastic hose 4" or so to attach the blast gates to the reducer on one side of the gate and a length of clear flexible hose dropping to your machine on the other end. Another plus is the wire in the clear flexible hose drop can be connected to your bare braided ground wire. You can also buy braided ground wire at Home Depot.Bobc38440.2968055556
