OK, this may be a bit OT, but I would like to know how to best insure vintage and/or valuable instruments.

I am aware of a few options but want an idea how others do it. And what do you do when traveling or working with valuable instruments where homeowners or a rider might not cover theft or loss. You folks who are pros or just prolific must have a lot of guitars around and must have some kind of protection. Any thoughts to share?

I have a 1 mill$ liability policy that covers clients guitars or accidents in the shop. if you are talking your own vintage instruments I would insure each individually based on book value +10% you will need a written estimate from an appraiser to do this.MichaelP38950.6811805556

Steve, give Joan Gallo a call at Heritage Insurance (musical instruments are what they do) . She'll set you up with a quote and give you every bit of info you'll need to make a decision. Tell her I sent you.
