Please welcome D'Addario to our family of OLF Sponsors!

Greetings OLF'ers

I am VERY pleased to announce that D’Addario will be coming on as the OLF’s newest sponsor. We have been in discussions with them for months and I could not be happier that they are joining our impressive list of sponsors. I have used their strings exclusively for years and I love them.

Additionally D’Addario has offered to let us organize a “group buy” at near OEM level pricing. They have made a wide range of products available to us, but we have decided to initially organize a group buy that focuses on uncoated Phosphor Bronze and 80/20 Phosphor Bronze sets.
They will be organized in lots of a full gross (144 sets of strings), or half gross (72 sets of strings). We will place one large order with D’Addario and the strings will be shipped to me, and I will break them down and mail them out to everyone.

These strings are only available to luthiers/builders (sorry, no players), and will be packaged in bulk (flat in non corrosive bags) not in the retail packaging and these strings are NOT for retail resale.

Here is the list of products we are running in this buy:

These prices include a small charge for us organizing the sale, breaking the shipment down into individual custom orders, and all packaging and shipping costs.

If this sale is as popular as I think it will be, this will be a substantial amount of effort and I need to enlist a couple of the neighbor kids to help me put this together. But even with these fees added I think you will agree that this is a FANTASTIC price.

You may pay pal your order to me at lance@luthiersforum.com and I will coordinate with D’Addario and keep everyone updated on ship times, etc.

Goodness sakes, Awesome work, Lance, and welcome to D'Addario, I am staring at a new set of EJ17 Phosphor Bronze (Medium) strings as we speak.

mmmmmmmm Phosphor Bronze

Hey Lance, can you clarify something for me? I thought the 80/20s were regular bronze, not phosphor. There is an 80/20 phosphor bronze, and a regular phosphor bronze?

Bill

Congratulations on adding D'Addario!!!

Welcome, D'Addario and thanks for your support

Lance, does this mean that 72 sets is the minimum order per individual? If not, then I'd be interested in 18 sets of LT 80/20 PB and 18 sets of LT PB.

If 72 sets is a minimum then I'd be willing to collaborate with one or more of our brethern. Hopefully, others will be so inclined.

Lance, does this mean that we have to buy either a gross or a half gross? Or can we get smaller amounts? Obviously, smaller amounts would be better if we want a variety.
This is a phenominal deal for builders. I hope everyone can take advantage of it.

Bill, I think you may be right...80/20 isn't a phosphor bronze, that's a bronze designation.Don Williams38951.9375347222

Don, yes, one full gross or one 1/2 gross, if we were to break it down further, it would be overwhelming to try to make it work...

Wow, this is a great deal!

How much more will you charge to get the strings up here to Canada?

Josh, just the actual difference, what ever that may be, I don't suspect much.

Lance, please comment again: A single builder doesn't have to buy a gross, you meant that the total order had to be in gross or half gross lots, didn't you?

Thanks, Dave
I'm currently using GHS and the 6th is a 54, so this is very close.

Congrats, Lance!

I've been using D'Addario Pro Arte strings for about 25 years now. They are my favorite.

So, when can us classical builders expect to be included in a group buy windfall?

Best,

Michael

Michael, we are doing just the steel strings now, but I have word from Peter DAddario that if this goes well that we may be able to expand the program to include other stuff.

Ron, the smallest order that we can fill is 1/2 a gross or 72 sets.LanceK38951.9750578704

Great news Lance, I will do 1/2 gross of the phosphor bronze lights, I assume these are the EJ16 set.
How do I proceed,
Anyone want to split 1/2 a gross of the Med or Xlite?
Let me know,
Evan

I'm interested, but 72 sets would last me about 5 years. Any So Cal builders interested in spliting a 1/2 gross or two? (If that would be ok, don't want to upset DAddario, there offer is an excelent one)

I'll buy 1/2 gross of Lt PB's. I want 18 and it looks like Hesh will take the same. That leaves 36 sets left. If 1 or 2 more are interested in 18 or 36 sets PM me. If even more are interested, I'll consider purchasing a gross. Let's keep the volume in 18 or 36 set lots.

I'll have them shipped to me and send the sets out to you. Assume another $2 for packaging and postage for each lot.

Great job, Lance and Brock!
I'll be jumping in on this one, too. Lance- how long do we have before we need to pay up? We need a time when you will stop taking the orders.
Evan, I will need some medium gauge strings, too!

Man this is a good deal, we pay $20 per set for these down here, or 3 sets for $40. I can't afford not to participate.

What's the time frame for this buy? When is the latest I can jump in?
