I need a set of back/sides in Camatillo Rosewood (Dalbergia Congestiflora) aka Mexican Kingwood.

I know LMI sells them but I would like to pick a set that I can see first...and they don't have any pics...

Anyone else has it?

TIA

Hi Peter,
Cook woods sells it in board form (not sets).
They have it on ebay from time to time-I have seen some smokin' figure/color on some of them.
Good luck,
Brad

Thanks, I've seen it on Ebay but my saw is not large enough to cut the backs.....

I'm building my first kit from this wood. It's an LMI kit, so I didn't get to see
the wood first. However, I am very happy with the selection they made for
me. It's really quite nice wood.

Since I got my kit, I've been looking around for lumber that can be milled
into backs and sides, and other than the occasional board from Cook, I
haven't seen much of anything.

I'll be interested in what you find.

Also welcome from a recent newbie. It will suprise no one that Serge was the first to welcome you. Legend has it, he is the fast poster here. Our local gunslinger, if you will.    He won't be the last. Great group. Post us with the progress on your guitar!

Yeah, welcome Cameron! Donovan's correct about Serge. I believe he has a couple of quantum twins working with him, so one of them is always posting!

hey guys, I'm new here too. I love Camatillo. I have a couple sets from LMI and taking parts from each I have one amazing set, one decent one and one stinker. One of the lumber yards near me has a log section which looks big enough for 4-5 backs and sides plus bindings and all sorts of other stuff. But without seeing inside it it makes me nervous, it is not cheap.

Welcome, Burton! Glad to have you here!

Peter, it looks like it's one of those woods where one supplier grabbed the only shipment that made it to the U.S. Must be in short supply.
