As Some of you may know My granddaughter was excepted last year to the University of New Mexico's Classical Guitar Studies program under the tutelage of Michael Chapdelaine (what a guitar virtuoso). Anyway I had the opportunity to meet with Michael and I have picked up several of his CD's since. The last time that I had seen him he was playing Yamaha's when playing steel sting. Well my grand daughter sent me a clip of him from this year and now he is playing one of Kevin Ryan's master pieces when he picks up the Steel Sting.

By the way Cortney has just began her sophomore year this year, and Michael has mostly recoverd from a bad motorcycle accident he had last year. So he was out of the classroom a good bit of last yearMichaelP38953.5245138889

There is a nice article in Acoustic Guitar magazine about Michael. At Newport, Kevin Ryan was selling his CDs. I think it's great when a luthier and an artist can endorse each other and collaborate together.

I got to see Michael play a Somogyi, what a treat! He is indeed a great player.

Here is a link to a clip of one of my favorite songs off of his "Replay" CD I have seen him perform this in person and it is him taping the percussion line on the guitar as he plays something to see
