Sorry about the late notice.

There will be a good size gathering of guitar players, along with a couple of builders this Saturday - 8/26 in Downey. If you would like to come, please PM or email me for information.

It starts at noon and keeps going until no one is left, often about 8 PM. It is a great group of people, mostly from another guitar forum. It would be a good time for you and a great opportunity for some exposure for your guitars, you and your playing/singing. We just sit around and talk, play, eat, drink, sing etc. There is no pressure to play or sing, once you hear me you'll understand why.

Thanks Steve! I'll be going to Whittier that afternoon to see 4 female slack key players in concert. Maybe next time.

There's a sentence I would never have expected to see!

Both events sound like fun!

Philip,
I hope you have a good time.

Carlton,
I had a similar thought.

Thanks I will enjoy hearing my favorite music played by top players. These women are all very talented slack key players with several Na Hoku Hanohano awards and numerous nominations (Hawaiian Grammys). Two of the women are participants in the ongoing Hawaiian Slack Key Masters Program that also produced a Grammy winning CD. The ladys are Owana Salazar, Cindy Combs, Lehua Ka'apana Nash, and the amazingly talented 17yr old Brittni Paiva.

You guys enjoy your gathering too.

Philip

I just got some inside info.    This looks to be a pretty impressive event, on a small scale. If you can make it, you'll be glad you did. I can't give away anything, but I will post after event pictures and info so you can kick your self for missing.
Via email, I have one other person from this forum attending.
