I have finally finished the all Koa Uke I have been building for Edwin Mulitalo, #64, right guard for the Baltimore Ravens. Here are some pics. Some of you may remeber me posting about having to do the inlay twice on the fretboard. That was a low point. The rest went fairly smooth. The inlay on the peghead is a picture of him playing a Uke. Bindings are EIR with B/W purfling lines. Ebony fretboard, bridge and peghead veneer, Koa Back, top and sides. Fretboard inlay is Brazilian cherry and B/W purfling lines. The rosette is abalone with B/W purfling lines. I used a classical stlye bridge. The finish is catalyzed urethane. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the compliments. I was very happy with the final result.

Great Uke!
Would love to see a picture of a lineman
playing it. I hope he don't crush it.

You guys are putting me to shame and I demand you stop right now until I have time to build a uke that's not from a kit!!!

Dang now I have to live up to Robbie's example

Nice Uke, I really like the inlay and the finish looks flawless.

Great Job...

I got to see it in person last night. It's even better than it looks in the
pictures!!! Sounds great too. Great job, Robbie!

Ed is a 350 pound Somoan lineman but surprisingly he has no problem playing a Uke.

Nice job Robbie! I know those fret markers gave you a lot of trouble, but they turned out awesome!

It sounds incredible! loud for such a little thing, too. Its true, the photos don't do it quite enough justice. Its really a beautiful instrument.

Looks great Robbie!

I think he would have liked that Smiley-Uke too...

Hey Joe, Nah...not much use at all. It doesn't play in tune for one thing...it was meant more for the fun of it than for actually playing it. I suppose I could make a new neck with a "real" scale...
