Well, this will be an experiment.
Jill, Tony's wife, sent me some shots of my latest.
She sent them in a zipped format, and I've been playing
with their reduction for the web.

Let's see how they are coming....

The first is a shot of the back. Brazilian rw w/ Koa bindings.

Next is a shot of the sides: (same woods )

Ok, now the tail end:

Finally, the top--bearclaw Sitka, w/ a Koa ring bordered w/ Paua:

Thanks for looking,

Steve

--You guys know how to lay it on...

Just right!

Many thanks for the kind remarks, and especially for the wife's kudos, Todd. That got a laugh outta me!

Serge--it is in fact a comish. On this one, the customer picked out everything for this build. (I think he did an excellent job!) Those Koa bindings were from an orpan set of sides purchased from Doug Degenhart when he was still living in Hawaii. The good old days.... )

Thanks again amigos-- you're probably too kind, but don't stop on my account!

Steve

steve,
it's beautiful. all of it. woods, workmanship, finish.
i see those little registration holes for the bridge. looks like they've been drilled through the ends of the saddle slot. i'm wondering if that' preferable to drilling through the E string holes for keeping everything straight for the gluing.

Phil, thank you so much.

I don't suppose it really matters much how you register your bridge. I use holes in the saddle slot because--I guess--I'm used to that technique. You could drill out the E string holes, no problem. But I prefer to wait till the bridge is glued down before making that serious a hole in the top. (Well, other than the sound hole.) Plus, the 3/32" holes will now be ready for any future undersaddle pickup installation.

Not much of an answer, sorry....

But thanks again for your kind words!

Steve

Super combo of materials -- I look forward to seeing it finished and close-up of that rosette.

Well done!

Nice wood combination Steve, and the usual Kinnaird execution (both brothers included here!) I look forward to seeing it when it's strung up.

No comment... just can't add to what has been said.

That, my friend is really sweet. really nice work did the wood proud. Those trees would have dropped them selves and split open if they new they would turn out like that. Of course, that was a comment wasn't it.

Looking forward to the completion pics, zipped or not.

Donovan
