After seeing all the beautiful guitars posted lately, I was feeling kind of left out. So, here's some pics of my latest, just strung her up yesterday.
I'm really pleased with the sound,clear and articulate with a little chocolate thrown in. I have no idea how to describe sound other than it's really nice. We need some standard definitions like the wine industry.
I set up to take my photos tonight and my photo lamps blew when I turned them on, so the pics are off due to poor lighting.
I'll try for better ones later in the week, but don't worry you won't have to suffer back through them.
The low down;
Adirondack spruce top from Steve at Colonial.
Finger board inlay by Paul Bordeaux, Koa and Shell
Back and sides, an unusal piece of Honduran Rosewood from Hibdon hardwoods.
Koa Binding with w/b purfs.

Roy, I call it a grand concert, but it's actually a little bigger than that, more of a grande concert with a 15.5 lower bout. It's also my own design.

Photos are OFF ??? WTF?? They look great! That inlay and the rosette are really tasteful! The "Black on Koa" is stunning! Very good job Jim!

Those back and sides are to die for!!! I really love wood with depths of grain. The koa really complements the rosewood.

You say the tone is like chocolate? Mmmmmmm...

I think we don't need terminology regulation similar to the wine industry, it is fun trying to work out the descriptives ourselves!!!!

(I really wish that more sound clips of made guitars could be posted on this site.)

She is beautiful, graciful, just stunning. I love the woods, but I really love the shape.

We really loved Santa Fe. Talking about moving back to NM, but to the northern end this time.

Very nice guitar Jim, just beautiful. If the sound is anything like mine and I suspect it may be similar since we used almost the same materials and having seen the inside of your top, then I believe I understand what you mean by "clear and articulate with a little chocolate thrown in", very smooth and round but not subdued. The HRW is very glassy and I think is going to be a favorite for me.
