Here are some progress pictures taken and forwarded to me from Tony after shooting 6 coats of nitro.

BobC - the figure is popping really nice on the neck wood you provided!!

BTW: The "Tony" is Tony Karol    I was able to convince Tony to spray them after house sitting for him -- I simply held a couple of sets of his prized Brazilian Rosewood back from him

OMG, Anthony...that archtop is absolutely fantastic!!! The headstock inlay is very striking...beautiful craftsmanship! Can't wait to see it all leveled and buffed out and strung up. I have a feeling there are more surprises under that tape.

You picked out a very nice set of BRW for services rendered. BTW...I'm calling the next house sitting assignment for Tony!!! I'm an excellent house sitter

Very nice Anthony. I really like the back of the head stock with the birds eye.

What did you use for the purfling, Anthony? Looks like maple binding. Bet you had fun on the F-hole binding.
Very nice looking!

Thanks for looking and the kind comments.

Arnt/Joe --True Blonde or Maple Madness -- I like it -- can I use that?

Lance -- indeed that is the one you saw in the white at Bob's Fort Erie gathering.

Nelson the purfling is .02" b/.02" w/.02" b (dyed black pear and curly sycamore). (Tony this is the sycamore we got at the Woodstock Woodshow a bunch of years ago). Nelson, binding F holes with wood as you well know is lunacy. It didn't turn out as nice as your KOA Konstrictor.

I am really looking forward to wet sanding it next week (ughh).

Fair warning to you potential Karol house sitters. Tony's wine cellar (excellent Cabarnet's) is located between his Zoot room and his shop door, the hot tub is up to temperature and its not to tough to get the pool cover off. Only tough part is figuring out how to get past a 90 lb chocolate Lab named Emma

Tony thanks so much for the excellent photos -- I really appreciate it.

Wow Anthony... What a stunning guitar, my friend. Looks fantastic!

Maple madness indeed!

I can't wait to try it out... after a few significant scotches, of course.

Really nice wood and finish. That nitro really makes that figure pop. Great collaboration!

Holy cow, Anthony! That's beautiful.
I'm a big fan of maple, and your maple madness really satisfies. I've built only one maple on maple, but seeing your pic makes me want to do another.

Tell us about the fun you had binding your f holes with maple.

Steve

Anthony--I don't believe you've told us, unless I missed it, what color you're going to use, if any?
Nelson P.S. I won't tell anyone if you're going to do a 'burst.

Can you read smoke signals ??? Hint ... the one that looks like an archtop in flames, is pretty much an archtop in flames. Seeing as I dont make archies, guess which one !!!!!
