With now 5281 posts under my belt, i'd be crucified or laughed at if i were to complain about the speed here !

Love my OLF and can forgive a lot of things!

Sometimes there's a lag, but usually it's OK for me.

I don't want to complain and don't feel a need too. What can Lance and
Brock really do in the mean time? They seem to have a grip on the
solution but have to wait for it.

OK, I posted earlier and have since done some additional time testing. I find that it is performing at least for me faster than my previous fast post. The only time I get any delay, which the longest was approx. 7 seconds was going back to the thread menu from a particular thread after either reading or posting. Other than that, most activity on the site for me has popped as fast as any other site I have been on, almost immediate if you will.

I wonder why?

Cable or LAN service is hardwired and faster I know, but could living in a rural area (lower population) with probably much less internet volume have something to do with the speed? Or since I am a nutcase for size and power with constant upgrades could it be that I am just blasting by, past and through the slower users?

Mike

I have the same slower loading time at home (DSL) and work (T3 line) and the other forums I participate in load much faster.

I have learned to right click the threads I want to open in a new window and close when done. This speeds up the process for me quite a bit but it may be puting a heavier burden on the server...
