Some follow up info regarding surface thermometers.
Available as "Grill Surface Thermometer", designed to monitor surface temp of BBQ grills and fry pans. Can commonly be found as cooking supplies for about $10.
I love these kind of tips!! Thanks Jim

Welcome aboard.

If I recall correctly I tested a waterbed heater and it heated to 140f and stayed there...

Nice guitar. I'd love to see more.

Welcome to the forum looks like you'll be able to make a great contribution here.

This is what I use for warming parts before HHG.

Thermostatic hot plate for keeping food warm, cheap of eBay.

Billy Dean, Brilliant! Now I know what to do with that 3-day-old pizza.

Terry, I don't think you can get two standard OM pg's out of one sheet. The sheets are ~ 4"x8" ; the OM pg's I've got here are about 3-3/4"x5-5/8".

Todd--you are welcome to visit anytime. Give me a call.

Jim

Their larger sheets are good for 3 dreadnought guards, or 4-5 OM's, or 5-6 mandolins, or........

Water bed heaters? Another good idea. Y'all are on a roll! Fun...!
Hmmm ... just saw how my responses lined up. How do I post so that responses follow logically?
You can't, 'cause the latest post always cues to the bottom of the thread.

Whan you can do, though, is use the "quote" button on the post to which you want to respond, and do as I have above. You'll need to leave the "quote" parts in brackets, but you can then highlight and delete extraneous parts of the original post so your response makes the most sense. Clear as mud?

Carlton, I guess it is 'bout as clear as mud. It didn't do what I expected. I'll figure it out.

Mario, can you get the larger sheets from Greven directly? I don't see them listed on his site or LMI's.

Thanks!

Just leave the stuff in the brackets as they are, and you'll get the box, as above. You can still edit the text of the post, though.

For future reference--sometimes the "re:" mounts up in the subject line too much and then your message won't post. You can also edit the subject line to erase the "re:'s", or to change the subject itself.

I used to get the large sheets from LMI years ago, but I now have them made to my specs(colors/patterns) directly. There's a minimum, of course, but you can likely swing it. They go under the name "Turtleworks".

I wasn't aware that LMI stopped carrying the large sheets.

It payed off reading this thread. I have one of those warming plates, that we never use. And I might even have a waterbed heater laying around here somewhere. Looks like I might have 2 more new tools.

Thanks for the tips.
