The Lowden has landed.
Opened it up, tuned it and played some. All I can say is:

        WOW

More later......

I propose that if you get a new high end guitar that you must have pictures to go with the post

Michael, I concur...OLF Law!

And as an addendum, sound samples are appreciated as well.

GAAHHH!! *tearing sound*

Don't do this to me!!!

I thought there would be pics in this one!!

If you can't record sound clips, send the guitar to me, and I'll happily record the sound samples and "accidently" lose the return address...

I agree.

OLF Law #1.
Any announcement of receiving a new high-end instrument must be accompanied by at least 4 pictures of said instrument. Two pictures must be front and back shots, and the other two must be close-ups details chosen by the new owner. Pictures of the new owner gloating with the new instrument shall be considered a transgression of the spirit of this law.

Hank, you're killing us all...and that just ain't right!

Ya, right! I couldn't!

Funny, I had no idea so many folks besides me loved Lowdens....especially the ones made by George himself.
Great guitars.

Actually, I'd like to think my guitars are every bit as good as George Lowden's guitars.

But I'd be wrong.

He managed to find his keyboard and let us know he has a new baby. So..... I say he could have taken pictures and shared with us. And since he hasn't he is 1) Teasing, which isn't nice and I might have to tell his momma, and 2) Gloating, which I can't blame him at all on that one. But he could/should share.

I think Hanks indiscretion is unforgivable. His new guitar should be confiscated from him and sent immediately to the penal colonies.

Hank, I will let you know my forwarding address in the antipodes, if you behave yourself and are a good boy in the future, I will let you have your guitar back when I am dead.

Regards

Kim

Don the guitars built by George are the best in the world bar none, this is fact not opinion!

I'd love one and have played a couple when I visited George, he is my inspiration.

No Sam, you aren't the only one who has yet to visit George's compound, though you are a darn sight closer to him then I've ever been. There is hope though. We keep talking about where we want to go when we finally go on a real vacation.

Guilty as charged!
But I had to work all day Friday and half of this Saturday. I'll get some photos up tonight.
Meanwhile, please realize that I am NOT getting to play it either.

PS: I was forced to open it up at church, where it was shipped for safety reasons. Then I had to bring it home and leave for work appointments. You think you got pain? Hank Mauel38983.4699652778

Well, ok Hank, you are certainly given some leeway here considering those circumstances.

We're all looking forward to seeing pics, I'm sure as much as you're looking forward to playing it.

For those of you who haven't figured it out, that's Hank's new McCollum guitar...and ain't she a beauty!

I've been a fan of McCollum guitars, and especially his rosettes for awhile now, and I'm sure you folks can see why. Maybe it's because I was so bad at spirograph when I was a kid...
