I'm still way behind getting started on construction on my ABG but thought I would post some pics of my first shipment of zoot. Purchased from Brad Goodman who was most patient and went above and beyond in customer service

Back and sides are from his Cuban Mogany tree felled in a hurricaine.

Top plates bear claw Sitka spruce.

Three pieces of Honduran mahogany and two thin lpanks of rosewood for a five piece neck lamination. Two of the mahogany pieces are substantially longer as a narrow extension will run through the hollow body to the tail block.

Ebony fretboard.

Scooter...I looks like you are able to start making your guitar. I am a few weeks away from ordering my first set of zoot. How did you select the types of woods & the supplier?Brad Way38984.8449074074

Brad,

I was somewhat at the mercy of supply and demand for the oversized back and sides needed for my AGB project that will be dimensionally similiar to the Taylor AB-1.

Originally I was hoping for Cocabolo for back and sides and researched all the North American sponsors of this site and sent an e-mail to each vendor.

Brad was the only one with large enough back and sides. Service was top notch.

All but one of the people I worked with were gracious, supportive and informative.

I went with mahogany for the neck for a lower weight wood to counteract too much neck heaviness.
