You know, I thought long and hard about buying that set. I decided against it, and bought some beautiful Claro Walnut from Larry Davis instead off the Luthiers Auctions site. Must have been because my friend Hesh had his eyes on that koa too.

I'm glad you got it Hesh!

Here's the Claro I bought:

Hesh - glad to hear you're happy with the wood and that it survived the trip through those OSU folks in Columbus unharmed .

- curly Maple binding - black fiber purfling line (rib and top plate)
- 1/4" curly maple back strip w black fiber
- Paua Rosette set in Koa or Spalted maple
- curly maple end graft
- Mahogany neck - 1/4" maple centre strip with black    fiber

I'll let you know about the fretboard inlay.

Hey! What about mine! I want a Heshtone!

They're the best guitars money can't buy!

He builds them, but won't sell them! I think I want that bursted Koa guitar he made awhile back. It's growin' on me!

Hesh, that's quite a score!

But I have to confess, Don's figured walnut takes my breath away. I need to track some of that down and find an excuse to use it!
