Wow what a year this has been, with the oil prices up my day job has been a 10-12 hour a day thing most of the year. Commissions for the most part have been the typical 3 to 5 I shoot for with in a year but the last 3 week have been unreal. I am now booked through May based on a 4 month turn around, with just what I have taken deposits on and I have 3 more quotes out. Out of those I think I will get 2 for sure and the other is pretty good chance. There is a real good chance I will have a years booking in a month or two. And here I was trying to free up the winter to get the web site up and running and do some plan drawings for both me and Brock and build me a couple guitars.

It is like I have suddenly been discovered I hate to turn down a commission but if I get all three of the quotes out. I am not going to take any more till I am down to only 2 on back log. I may have to break a rule I have about building only one till it is in the finish booth, and start building in batches. I don't like to do that.

I have to give the forum credit for two orders and the rest were word of mouth. I like those. There the earned orders.

Your fault Michael for building such good guitars.
Congrats! Time to raise your prices
I have a little to account for switching to Custom Ameritage cases for my Custom Deluxe series guitars

That's great, Michael! Things are moving along just as they should, and I'd wager that when you reach your 10-year building mark (IIRC, you said you're more than halfway there already) you'll be able to make a full-time living at lutherie--if you want to, of course!
