Very nice Hesh,

Good to see you back in the shop and making a great start to this next one. I am really looking forward to this build, that Tiger Myrtle set you got from Australian Tonewoods is very, very nice, and your just the man to do it justice buddie.

I must also comment on that Lutz Top, the silk is just incredible, it must surely be one of Shane's tops, simply luscious.

Cheers

Hmmm, is that the L-00 I see in those pics.

You're gonna love building this one Hesh! And having such nice wood doesn't hurt much either. Is this the one that is getting the black paint on top? Or did you settle on a burst for it?

"Back in the saddle/shop"

Darn, Hesh. Being from Texas and all I thought you were carving saddle trees in the bathroom now

sorry This joke may not make sense to someone not familiar with how ridding saddles are built

Hesh,

Glad you're up and around making sawdust again! The top is looking good. So, what is the method you've obviously just proven to be effective? Here's my guess -- route for the two outer rings after the myrtle was glued in?

Ain't it great to have space? burbank39002.3996527778

Right on! Good to see you're feeling well enough start building again Hesh...

That is a gorgeous rosette. I too worked it exactly like you did on no.2 and it turned out perfectly as well. Not a single gap to fill... I think the secret is a certain type of retentiveness coupled with patience...

That is going to be a fantastic looking guitar, my friend. I will be looking into a L-00 in the near future...

Are you going to try FP?

Keep it up!

Well, golldurnit, I thought we were finally going to get a Bo Diddly signature model acoustic! Maybe next time?

It's all looking good, Hesh. Congratulations on the rosette! See, for me, going back to take off a "little more" is a disaster waiting to happen.

Looking good Hesh. I've been waiting for you to use the tiger myrtle ever since I heard you got it.

I used tiger myrtle bindings on my second guitar which I completed last weekend. My bindings look like they may have come off the same board that your stuff did. I was surprised at how much the myrtle darkened under shellac, it looks much darker than it did under naptha. You might want to test some different finishes on scrap to be sure you get the result you're after.

It's all looking really nice Hesh! Nice to see you off the bench and back in the game    That should be a sweet looking guitar! (I wish I could talk you out of going with a black gloss top as that top has nice tight lines with gorgeous silk and pink hues).Anthony Z39002.9913541667

I second that thought Anthony, it hurts my poor heart too but by respect to my bro, i will not try to discourage him, i think Hesh has to please himself now! Right bro?
