I am installing a B-Band AST pickup and it has a 9 volt battery pack that they recommend placing on the head block or back. Do you have experience with this and advice about battery pack installations?

I have installed 4 B-Band pickups and put all of the battery packs on the headblock. This is of course one of the most secure locations to put a "lump" of weight in a guitar. The side is not the right place for this, but if you must due to a thin line head block you may have no other choice.

It's always nice to have all things electronic (IMHO) hidden inside the body of a nice acoustic.

You can put it on the side or front of the head block (when looking inside that is).

And an personally, I don't like the design of the B-Band battery holder, it's not very easy to get the battery out of when it's inside a guitar. They use to make a velcro strap holder, but now the thing is ridgid plastic with this thick clip over the top of the battery plug. Hard to work IMO.Rod True39016.9431481482

I put mine on the upper side of the headblock. That keeps gravity from
loosening up the velco or stickem.
