Hey listen! You want to see a neat shop, and one that I envy. Check out Dennis Scannals shop, talk about inspiring! check out his view out the window over his main bench!

True North
I too love Dennis' shop. Wish I had his guitar name too, it suits me better . His guitars sure are killer though. Love his wedge design too. I know it's Manzers and everyone who uses it has to give her credit, but his seems to be one of the nicest out there.

Lance, great looking set-up.
Hey, what size dust collector are you running? Is it adequate for your needs? Looks like you've got a fair number of tools hooked up.

Steve

Lance;
I'm going to send you a bag of sawdust & shavings!!!!
How can you work in a clean shop?
As soon as you make dust you'll have to stop and clean it up!
Get down & dirty!

Lance-
What are the dimensions of your extremely nice shop? Do you find it to be adequately sized? (I'm in design stage for mine right now, and have doubts about my proposed 20x30 footprint.)

BTW- did you receive my PM to you last week?

Chris

Steve, oddly enough this 1 hr jet does really good! I have blast gates at every machine, so it is only servicing one machine at a time. That said I have a Penn Ind cyclone system on its way. So my Jet is for sale
First 150.00 takes it.

Lance, if you aren't busy this weekend, I could use some pointers on making my shop look more like yours.

Jealousy is such an ugly emotion.

if i spent the time it would take me to get my shop that neat i wouldn't get any work done for a year. and if i had a view like scannal's i probably would want to sit in a nice recliner with my honey and an appropriate beverage and just enjoy it; blow the work.

but having lived next door in nh i don't know if i would get out of doors much from now till april or so.

you're doing wonders in a small space.

Just think how much better it could do with pvc pipe or round metal pipe (ducts) instead of all that flex hosing which kills the air flow...

Lance, thanks for the answer.
Now, one more Q.= I'm assuming you are upsizing?
What size H.P. system are you getting?
110 v. or 220 v.?

Ok, that's 3 questions, forgive me. I guess I'm interested in your solutions to a dirty problem.

Steve

I don't see what the big deal is with lances neat shop,, come on , all it takes is some disipline. YOu use a tool, when your done you clean up, you put it away, its that simple,, guess what, when you need it next time its right there where you put it. Now lets take a look at MY shop,, hmm,, I know I put it somewhere,,, didn't I,, i just had it.. Man I lost the whole shop !!! it must be under something...

Lance nice shop, and I admire your neatness,,, do you have a dvd or something to teach that... nevermind,, i'd loose it

Steve, I have a 1.5 hp 110v Penn ind cyclone coming. My main concern is the dust particles that are getting through this bag unit. I know I can get the 5 micron bag for it, but id rather spend the money on the bigger unit. My shop is in my basement, and I have to be responsible for what is getting into the house. That and my customers seem to have a penchant for COCOBOLO!

Eventually I will get a 220 2 hp unit and install it in a small attached building to my home, like Paul Davis did. Then plumb it in, so this unit for all intensive purposes will be a very good stop gap solution.

To quote the Joker - Where does he get all those wonderful toys!

Looks like all Lance needs is one of those Canadian windows and he's setup! Speaking of cocbolo, a friend of mine had his vacuum outside with a return vent on the other side of his gargage.

Sounds like a good thing for working with tropicals, no matter how good the the vacuum filters. I'd want to isolate myself from it as much as possible because one wouldn't know if you where being exposed until it's too late.

?Someone tell me, how does this Dennis guy even get any work done?
