I just wanted to start this thread to ask OLF members to support the sponsers.
Shane Neifer visited my shop today and brought some of the best tops and brace stock I've ever seen.
He drove 5 hours to get here and 5 hours back to Ottawa just so we could meet!
I've met Don from Newengland tone woods at The Newport festival and he has sent me great woods also!
Paul makes the best inlays !!

I believe all the sponsers here are truely great suppliers of tonewoods, inlays and accessories and are trustworthly suppliers!
Support them please!

Agreed,

Since becoming involved with the OLF I now purchase 100% of my supplies, tonewoods and services through these sponsors. To date, I have not gotten around to all of them, but over time I plan to. My current habits are being fed nicely by BobC of RC Tonewoods, Ed Dicks of AC Tonewood, Tracy of Luthiers Suppliers, John Hall of Blues Creek, John Watkins of CNC Guitar, StewMac, LMI and most recently Allied Luthiers. With more time, money and another "Swap Meet" I am sure I will get to the rest.

Thanks to all for the great service, products and your participation in sharing with all of us.

Mike

One more thing, everyone be sure and access our sponsors sites through the OLF links when making purchases. This allows them to see the impact our community has on their business.

I've said it before...that Shane is one great guy! He sent me some realy great stuff. ALL THE OLF SPONSORS ARE REALLY TOP NOTCH!. I have never had a bad dealing with any of them...Well except for ...

Actually I think it's because of Lance and Brock that we have attracted some very good people. So applause goes out to these guys as well as all the great sponsors.

Yup, i've done business with Shane, BobC, John Hall and John Watkins, Stew Mac and LMI and never was disapointed, our sponsors are more than sponsors, they are brothers who work really hard to bring the goods to us and i am a very proud guy to be able to befriend them and order from them.

I too plan on ordering from every single one of them as soon as i get mo' mowney! Serge Poirier39027.5230555556

I agree with you guys. Buy what you can from the dealers here so that they can buy more supplies to serve you better

As for Shane, what can I say. During the GAL Convention he stopped by my house, which was quite a bite out of the way, just to offer me a ride to the convention. But I had just broken my leg and didn't feel like going. He is a stand up guy, truthful, honest, and a very nice guy.

All of the sponsors are great guys. Give them a try!

Me, Mike and 'Bianca'!! A wonderful lady wearing her Lutz top and very finely appointed with top notch assessories, and......MAN!!!.....does she have a voice!!!

This weekend I have invaded three shops, Mike's as you can see (his shop is in the middle of enlargements!, what a cool little operation.....30 years or so sitting in there!), Alain D's.....working away at a sweet little venetian and then Sergio's newly adjusted environment, ready for action!! Is was great spending a bit of time with all three of these fine people this weekend. A rare opportunity for me being so far removed from the rest of the continent! I had the privilige of meeting Alain and Serge in person last May and Alain fed me dinner last night then off to Serge's where I was treated to some great french pickin' as they celebrated his mom's 65th, with her present from Serge.....Mom was a happy LADY!

This is the first time that Mike and I have met, although it was like walking up to a great old friend! He and I have been communicating a lot for over a year now.......One knowledgable dude, and very kind on the help!! Thanks again Mike, it was a great pleasure to finally shake your hand, sir!

Thanks all, you guys make it fun being a sponsor, especially when I am allowed to be a shop tramp when I pop by

I have one of Shane's lutz tops on a classical that should be ready in another few weeks. It has a very promising tap tone. I know of at least two of my students this semster that are also using Shane's tops. I can hardly wait to hear the outcome.

Thanks for sharing that great pic of you and Mike Shane, i wish i could have went with you but it was kind of impossible for me this week end, my family was still impressed today by your fine presence among us last night and they all stated how nice of a guy you were to which i can only agree whole-heartedly.

My sponsors are friends and they got class!

I don't normally respond in threads such as this but I have to say that I just received service from one of our sponsors that has truly amazed me.

On Friday 3rd November I posted a small order to LMI via their website for just a couple of items, but things I needed fairly quickly. Well with the weekend in between I didn't expect it to arrive soon, but at 8.00am this morning, Monday 6th November, a ring at the door and it's the Fed Ex guy with my parcel! I think we have to admit that was pretty quick. Oh, by the way I'm thousands of miles away across the Atlantic in England so customs processing etc had to happen as well.

The profit that LMI must make on this deal is miniscule but the service was exemplary, from both them and Fed Ex.

Thanks Chris.
Hear Hear!
I just received my Australian Blackwood billets from Shane. Safe and sound,
and before he got a cent frome me for his tireless work putting the whole
order together for us!
-C
PS a check is in the mail for my import and postage- THANK YOU!
No discredit here for Shane, he is a great guy and totally deserving of the recognition. Shane done a wonderful job of his part in the orchestration process which made this deal work for so many. But please, do not forget another of the OLF's fine sponsors in Tim Spittles of Australian Tonewoods.

After all, if your memory serves, it was indeed Tim whom made the offer to supply the blackwood to the OLF community, directly from his own supplier in Tasmania in the first place. In doing so, Tim pretty much cut himself out of this deal. And I can tell you now that this was a selfless act on his behalf designed to lend support to a friend in need.

In all truth Tim's decision would have cost him a fair bit of business. But of course he was fully aware of this at the time but you will not hear him complain. Tim has his priorities right, he truly is that much of a nice guy and one you should endeavour to support in the future when ever your looking for the very best in Australian Tonewoods.

(Oh, and just in case you are wondering why I am in his corner? I can tell you that there is no financial connections or benefits for me. I am simply very proud to call him my mate, and that would ring true if there were no such thing as a guitar )

Cheers all.

Hesh and all,
Very well said, and it truly is an honor to do business with so many fine people. I too like to purchase from our sponsors exclusively! I'd like to thank you all for your hard work too!

I certainly meant no disrespect to Tim or any of the other sponsors here. My
apologies if I have offended anyone and I have deleted my previous post.
Perhaps it's better if I keep my opinions to myself and retreat to observer
status.

Our sponsors are top notch! That's for sure. I've had many dealings with many of them and I've come away 100% satisfied, all the time!

Shane even hand delivered my K&K trinity system to me this Saturday (along with some other lutherie related goodies...), and we had a great time just sitting down and chatting away about guitars...

A fine group!

Charles, it was very appropriate for you to acknowledge Shane's part in bringing in the Tas Blackwood. With Tim as far away as he is, it's perfectly understandable to forget his part in all that. I'm sure Kim meant no offense to you, nor did you mean any offense to Tim. It's hard to remember everything and everyone on the best of days.
