Hesh,

I've always wanted a guitar dated on my birthday!

Lookin' good buddy....

I'm thinkin' more and more about the Dec 2nd meeting. The deeper into
this building I go the more questions I have. Like you mentioned, there's
a million ways to build a guitar, and I'm seeing lots of things that could
be done differently and perhaps more efficiently than the Cumpiano
method I'm being taught.

Sweeet Progress Buddy. That 00 is looking mighty fine indead. I'm surprised that you don't have an adjustable tail graft jig of some sort. I like the simple, hands on method.

Thanks, Hesh. I like the opposing grain direction on the end graft. I think it'll provide just a little bit of extra interest in that area.

Hesh, I don't use a jig for my end grafts and they always come out perfect. Have yuo considered using a clamped fence and running a saw against it?

Ya, I was thinkin of Lances cool jig as well.

I believe it is from Guitar Jigs, up here in Canada. Give Mark a call to see what his delivery schedule is.

You really won't be needing it for at least another month or so right?

There are a couple more topics if you search for end graft jigs in the archives, but most of them are "custom made" not purchased. Maybe Tracy will come up with one soon

Nice job Hesh. I really like your graft and binding plan. I think when you put the finish on, that figure is going to pop like crazy. With that and the black top, I think wild bindings might be too much. I like having visuals that you can appreciate from 10 feet away, but I also like having somethings that are more discrete as well. To my eye it makes the whole presentation seem more intimate. Kind of like saying, "hey, there's something really cool here, but I'm going to make you work to find it. And when you do find it, it will be our little secret". If that makes any sense. Look forward to seeing more.
